KNUD ADAMS is an Obie-winning director of artful new plays, based in NYC. His work combines design innovation with performances of subtlety and depth. His world-premiere productions include the consecutive Pulitzer Prize-winners English and Primary Trust.
Critics have lauded Knud’s productions as “cinematically precise” and “customarily gorgeous,” and they have been featured on Best of the Year lists by The New York Times, New York Magazine, The New Yorker, and The Washington Post.
He is an alumnus of the Drama League Next Stage Residency and Fall Directing Fellowship, the Soho Rep Writer/Director Lab, the Playwrights Horizons Directing Residency, and Kenyon College.
Knud trained by assisting some of the nation's foremost theater artists, including Sarah Benson, Rachel Chavkin, Richard Foreman, Sam Gold, André Gregory, and Elizabeth LeCompte.
Before moving to Ohio for high school, he grew up in France, England, and Scotland with his five siblings.
